Established in 1991, the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MIArb) is a distinguished institution committed to advancing dispute resolution through arbitration, promoting its use as a reliable and effective means. MIArb's arbitrator panel, comprising highly qualified individuals from diverse professional backgrounds, ensures specialized expertise in industries such as construction, engineering, finance, law, insurance, and manufacturing. Evolving beyond arbitration, MIArb embraces alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods like mediation and adjudication, supported by comprehensive Arbitration and Mediation Rules. With a rich history of educating the public and training members in ADR, MIArb offers assessment courses for Fellows, fostering a community of skilled professionals. The institute's collaborative partnerships with local and international ADR institutions, industry associations, and academic centers aim to raise awareness, share knowledge, and expand ADR adoption. Actively engaged in ADR law reform, MIArb operates as a non-profit and non-governmental organization, standing as a beacon of excellence, integrity, and collaboration in alternative dispute resolution, shaping a future where disputes are resolved efficiently and equitably, fostering a culture of harmony and understanding.

MIArb offers four membership categories: Associates, Members, Fellows, and Affiliate. Fellows, the highest tier, include retired judges and experienced arbitrators, while Members encompass professionals from various disciplines. Our diverse community ranges from architects to lawyers, with designations FMIArb, MMIArb, and AMIArb for Fellows, Members, and Associates respectively.
